Our friends who travel with us in the winter are very special, so we are offering a series of mystery rides, each with its own charm, fascination and changing colours. We cannot tell you where we are going... or what we shall see... It may be coast. town or countryside. The coach should arrive back in Enfield by approximately 6.00pm and during the ride your ticket will be entered into a 'Lucky Seat' competition which if you win will enable you to enjoy even more days out with Enfieldian. So don't stay indoors this winter, get out and about on the Winter Wanderer.

Break for coffee at Beaconsfield Services and then drive across the Chiltern Hills to enjoy a leisurely drive through the Cotswold village of Bibury to arrive in the Cotswold town of Cirencester for lunch. We spend the afternoon amidst the tranquility of the unusual Painswick Rococo Winter Garden, renowned for its stunning display of Snowdrops and other winter owers. This rediscovered, secret 50 acre garden combines formal vistas, charming contemporary follies and winding woodland walks with ne views across the Cotswold Hills. Home by approximately 7.30pm.

ANGLESEY ABBEY AND LODE MILL AT SNOWDROP TIME (N/T)

Anglesey Abbey near Cambridge is opening its doors at Snowdrop time this year so we may visit both the house and gardens for the rst time. When you step into this elegant home you journey back to a golden age of country house living. Early in the New Year the gardens are transformed into a 'Sea of White' as thousands of snowdrops announce the arrival of Spring. The celebrated garden, with its sweeping avenues and classical statuary offers captivating views whatever the season. There will be time for lunch and a look around the house and also there is a shop selling local products and gifts, a plant centre and second hand bookshop and the historic watermill. After our visit we shall drive to Cambridge for a cup of tea and a browse. Home by approximately 6.00pm.

BEDFORD MARKET AND VILLAGES

Why not shake off those Winter cobwebs and enjoy a day out with Enfieldian as we visit the bustling Bedford Market. The market is set by the River Great and Bedford was given its charter to hold markets 800 years ago by Henry Ⅱ. The market spreads into the pedestrianised shopping areas around the Harpur Centre, a collection of 38 shops built in the facade of the 19th century Bedford School. There will be time for lunch, shopping and sightseeing before stopping for tea amongst the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire countryside. Home by approximately 6.30pm.
