Our friends who travel with us in the winter are very special, so we are offering a series of mystery rides, each with its own charm, fascination and changing colours. We cannot tell you where we are going...or what we shall see... It may be coast or countryside. The coach should arrive back in Enfield by approximately 6.00pm and during the ride your ticket will be entered into a ‘Lucky Seat’ competition which if you win will enable you to enjoy even more days out with Enfieldian. So don’t stay indoors this winter, get out and about on the Winter Wanderer.

For our first snowdrop tour of the year we shall visit the 12th century romantic, beautiful and unique Hedingham Castle near Sudbury a family home with 900 years of history. Set in the village of Castle Hedingham we shall have time to view the Castle Keep and Grounds as well as the Snowdrop display. In the afternoon we shall drive to Cressing Temple Barns, also built in the 12th century founded by the Knights Templar. Here we shall have tea at the Tiptree Barns Tea Room next to these unique building and gardens, which offer free entry if open. Home by approximately 6.00pm.

Today we visit the ‘Forgotten gardens of Easton Lodge’ near Great Dunmow in Essex to see the displays of snowdrops and to have a guided tour from an experienced guide and learn about stories of the history of the gardens, past inhabitants of Easton Lodge, including the Countess of Warwick, the mistress to Edward, Prince of Wales,son of Queen Victoria, and the USAAF and RAF stationed on the airfield next to the gardens. Afternoon tea/coffee and homemade cakes are included in your tour along with access to the historical archives. Lunch will be taken at Saffron Walden before we make the short journey to Easton Lodge. Home by approximately 6.30pm.
